I’m going to start posting one political quote as a quote of the day, here’s one of my favorites to start it off with.

On November 9th, Tina Fey won the The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor and today we find out her acceptance speech was edited. Of course the typical Hollywood liberal elitism was the cut part. I don’t care if people make jokes about conservatives or any political party for that matter, but when it reaches a volatile, downright insulting state, that’s when it reaches my pet peeve level.

At this link you can read the whole exert while I just nitpick at one line.

“But for most women, the success of conservative women is good for all of us. Unless you believe in evolution. You know – actually, I take it back. The whole thing’s a disaster.”

Who honestly believes that was in jest alone? I don’t, actually I would bet money it isn’t, considering liberals, women especially, love to keep conservative women at an acceptable position, things like being a mother and housewife. Just look at the snide comments thrown at female politicians that happen to be conservatives and mothers. I mean, they really shouldn’t be how having careers and all, who’s going to take care of the kids. It’s not like they’re a liberal mother and can somehow to both, not at all…

Evolution, ah, yes, because it’s in our conservative motto that we can’t believe in evolution. Yeah, no. Not believing humans evolved from any animal is not the same thing as not believing in evolution. But, that’s just insane, right?…

Sorry, but the success of any woman no matter what her political views is something to be admired, yes, that is what I feel about Tina Fey winning the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor even if she is being a sore winner and petty as hell.

Congratulations Tina Fey, on all your successes, too bad you can’t feel the same way when other women succeed as well.

Gay Marriage

This is a tricky topic, especially considering my views on the topic. Now, I will admit, most people don’t claim the first amendment grants the right to gay marriage, but they do claim the constitution does.

The fact is the constitution doesn’t grant anyone the right to a government regulated marriage, that’s right, not heterosexual or homosexual marriage. At one time marriage was just a spiritual and/or religious ceremony to commit to someone you love, which is how it should have stayed in my opinion.

The government wanted to take over marriage as a way to watch our population more than it already does and “reward” us with nice little tax incentives. It killed the true meaning of marriage, people should get married because they absolutely want to, and not because it looks good on their taxes.

All it has done if give the government more power over us and turn something as beautiful as marriage into a political talking point. I personally find that sickening and I doubt I’m the only one. So, instead of protesting to legalize gay marriage or to keep it illegal, how about we protest to take marriage back out of the hands of the government for good.

No matter how many times people are corrected, they will not accept that “separation of church and state” is not covered by the first amendment or in the constitution at all. I feel like a broken record the amount of times I’ve said this, but it needs to be said again since I’ve started this blog.

The phrase was said in a personal letter of Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists, keyword “Personal letter”, not any form of federal legislature at all. He said it to ease the concerns of the Danbury Baptists that the government would not infringe on their religious freedom. He said to meaning that religion would be protected from the government, that there would be no state run church, i.e. like the Church of England, and they would be able to practice as they wished.

Now does that ever stop the ACLU and it’s followers from pushing their own religious or lack of religious views on other by way of the government? No, not one bit, because they are all so convinced that phrase exists in the constitution and that it is to protect citizens from the big bad religions of the world.

Which makes them hypocrites, yes I said it, forcing their views on religion onto others through the court system is just as bad, if not worse than, the ten commandments being up in federal buildings, crosses being on the sides of roads, kids praying in schools, ect..

I mean, think about it, isn’t there something seriously wrong when people approve of a child getting in trouble because they bowed their head to pray in school? Who is that really hurting? Not me and highly doubt it’s hurting anyone else. We should get over this butthurt mentality everyone has now days and just live our own lives.

And, if you’re so afraid of catching those icky Christian cooties, buy a gas mask, problem solved.

I thought posting the first amendment word for word would be a good way to re-kick off this blog. Here it is:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Memorize that and before you spout off on what it covers, think.

I shouldn’t have kept you waiting, but I’m here now…

It has been a while, but I’m back, I have some things to post right now, not really new since I wrote them a few weeks ago, but none the less, full of my not so witty sarcasm.
